TSA projects June 28 to be busiest travel day ever
(CNN) – If you’re traveling Friday, you’re not alone.
The Transportation Security Administration expects to screen more than 3 million passengers.
If that happens, it would make it the busiest travel day ever, surpassing the previous record set Sunday, with 2.9 million individuals screened.
The Independence Day holiday started Thursday and lasts through Monday, July 8.
TSA expects to screen 32 million during that period.
That’s a 5.4% increase over the 2023 Independence Day holiday travel week.
Meanwhile, the American Automobile Association is expecting heavy traffic as well.
AAA projects nearly 71 million people will travel 50 miles or more between Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, July 7.
