Trump: “they tried for a coup”

(NBC News) Speaking before a cheering audience at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting Friday, President Trump again referred to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation as a failed “coup.”

“They tried for a coup, it didn’t work out so well. And I didn’t need a gun for that one, did I?” Mr. Trump said.

“Spying, surveillance. Trying for an overthrow,” he continued. “And we caught them, we caught them. Who would have thought in our country?”

The president also announced he’s pulling out of the international Arms Trade Treaty, an agreement signed by President Obama.

The NRA maintains that the treaty threatens the 2nd Amendment.
