FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear has confirmed President Donald Trump approved his request for an emergency disaster declaration in Kentucky.

According to Beshear, this will allow federal funding to be available to impacted areas following flash flooding Saturday.

As of Sunday morning, Beshear stated there are 300 road closures across the Commonwealth. The governor says there have been multiple fatalities and hundreds of water rescues.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet leaders have said the statewide impact is historic, officials say.
