Tru Fru freeze dried products recalled for presence of metal

Georgia Nut Company is recalling certain varieties of Tru Fru freeze dried products.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the voluntary recall issued on Friday is due to the presence of metal in the product. The products affected by this recall include Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries in dark and white chocolate and Tru Fru freeze dried strawberries and crème, listed here.

The products were distributed across the United States, according to the FDA.

The retailers include but are not limited to Kroger, Target, CVS and Food Lion.

FDA officials say there have been no reported injuries or illnesses.

No other Tru Fru products or lots are affected by this voluntary recall, officials say. For a full list of impacted products and UPC codes, click here.
