Trial of Brooks Houck, Joseph Lawson enters Day 7

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -The seventh day of the trial of Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson is underway in Bowling Green.
News 40 is on scene, and so far, developments are rolling in well before noon.
The defense called Rhonda McIlvoy, Houck’s sister, and questioned her about being accused and threatened after the disappearance of Crystal Rogers.
Rogers disappeared from Bardstown in 2015, with her body never being found.
The prosecution objected several times to this line of questioning, with the defense finishing their questions with the following:
“Did you have anything to do with the disappearance of Crystal, or did you know of any conspiracy from your family to do anything to her?”
McIlvoy said no to both questions.
Under cross examination, the prosecutors asked about why she had recorded her grand jury testimony, which is illegal.
She said she recorded it so that she would have proof of her testimony, but prosecutors suggested she did it as conspiracy among family members to record all testimony and get their stories straight.
Three recorders were found at the family home.
News 40 will continue to bring you the latest details as the trial continues.
