Trees of Christmas display opening this weekend
With Thanksgiving now over, the Christmas season is finally upon us, and you can’t really have Christmas without putting up a Christmas tree.
To kick off the festive season, the Trees of Christmas opening ceremony will get things underway Friday at the Eloise B. Houchens Center in Bowling Green.
The event begins at 3 p.m. today at the Center.
Everyone in the community is invited to the free ceremony where 40 unique trees will be set up on display for all to see.
The trees have been decorated by multiple local civic groups and non-profits in the community.
There will also be other kinds of holiday entertainment and festive holiday refreshments at the event.
Families will also have the opportunity to take a picture for their family Christmas card, and you can vote for your favorite tree as well.
The Center is also asking for help collecting hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves for local children.
The Trees of Christmas display will be open Nov. 24 through Dec. 21.
