Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
GLASGOW, Ky. – Following a traffic stop in Barren County, Kentucky State Police charged a woman with possession of methamphetamine.
According to the arrest citation, police stopped a vehicle driven by Jessica Akers, 38, on an accusation of traveling with a temporary license plate tag that was not legible.
Police said Akers denied consent to search the vehicle, but their K9 alerted officers to both the driver’s and passenger side door.
The citation reads, inside the vehicle, a small plastic bag with a white powdery substance that Akers identified as methamphetamine was found along with a glass pipe.
Akers was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on multiple criminal charges.
