Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Two people are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Allen County last week.

On Thursday, the Scottsville Police Department says it conducted a traffic stop around 8:30 a.m. on East Main Street for a traffic-related offense.

Police say the driver was identified as 59-year-old Troy Hewitt of Boiling Springs, Tennessee.

Through investigation, authorities say they discovered Hewitt possessed methamphetamine. Hewitt was arrested, along with his passenger, 52-year-old Christina Brawner of Scottsville.

Brawner faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hewitt is charged with failure of owner to main required security/insurance, no registration plates, no registration receipt and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Both remain at the Allen County Detention Center.
