Traffic stop leads to arrests in Knox County

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. – Two people have been arrested following a traffic stop in Knox County.
According to trooper Shane Jacobs, public affairs officer for Kentucky State Police Post 10, troopers were patrolling U.S. 25-E in Knox County around 11 a.m. Monday when they observed a vehicle traveling at 98 miles per hour.
Troopers say two people were located inside of the vehicle.
Authorities say during a traffic stop, it was discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Tennessee.
Upon further investigation, authorities say drugs, cash and a weapon were discovered inside of the vehicle.
Both individuals from Tennessee were taken into custody and transported to the Knox County Detention Center. Those identities have not been released at this time.
Authorities say charges are pending.
