Tractor-trailer overturns, killing 1 in McLean County

CALHOUN, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal McLean County crash.

McLean County Dispatch contacted KSP at 5:20 pm to respond to a one-vehicle collision at the 13000 block of KY 56 near Beech Grove on Tuesday.

KSP’s initial investigation shows Brad Jones, 59, of Marion, was driving a tractor-trailer eastbound on KY 56.

KSP says Jones exited the right shoulder, lost control of the tractor-trailer, and crossed both lanes before overturning.

The tractor-trailer blocked KY 56.

An ambulance transported Jones to Baptist Health in Madisonville for life-threatening injuries.

Jones was pronounced dead at the hospital.

KY 56 was shut down for four hours while KSP investigated the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
