K105 reports the Wax Fire Department, Grayson County Grayson Sheriff’s Office, Grayson County Emergency Management, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Kentucky State Police responded Monday at around 10:15 a.m. to scene of the crash.

Upon arrival, first responders located a westbound tractor-trailer hauling lumber that had exited the road while coming out of a curve. K105 reports the driver, who did not sustain any injuries, told police he swerved to avoid an eastbound vehicle that was in the westbound lane.

The tractor-trailer traveled about 75 years after it exited the road, K105 states, before it destroyed a utility pole and rolled over on an embankment. The truck stopped on its side, spilling a large amount of lumber.

Peonia Road was shut down in both directions near the crash. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials re-routed traffic around the wreck, and multiple Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation trucks arrived and set a new utility pole.

The roadway reopened to normal traffic on Monday at around 3 p.m.
