Toys for Tots Hand It to a Hero taking place on Nov. 25
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Toys for Tots is holding their annual Hand It to a Hero event this year at the Walmart off of Campbell Lane.
The event strives to give every child a happy Christmas. Last year they delivered toys to nearly 23,000 children.
Event coordinator Janel Doyle said the event is an important part of the the toy drive every year in the Bowling Green and Warren County area.
“Our boxes are out now all within the community. We have over 200 box locations. Those can be found at Toys for Tots dot org. And we are low this year on our babies and on our 10 to 12-year-olds, so any donation would be greatly appreciated,” Doyle said.
To Hand it To a Hero, you can visit the Walton Avenue Walmart on Saturday, Nov. 25 to hand a new toy to members of the Bowling Green Police Department, Kentucky State Police, Bowling Green Fire Department, United States Marine Corps, WKU Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Warren County Regional Jail or local EMS.
Local heroes will pass along these toys to Toys for Tots, where they will go on to reach a child for this holiday season.
Donation collections last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
