Tourism officials recomend checking out local attractions for Labor Day weekend

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Labor Day is seen by many as the last chance to travel before summer comes to an end. With COVID being a roadblock in many people’s travel plans, the state of Kentucky is urging staycations.

The state tourism office has introduced the “Stay Close, Go Far” campaign, which emphasizes attractions and fun spots that Kentuckians can enjoy without traveling out of the state.

This is something the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is hoping to implement as well. For anyone who had to cancel Labor Day travel plans, the organization is urging Kentuckians to reroute plans and check out some of South-Central Kentucky’s spots.

If you do take a trip to a local attraction, you can use the hashtag TravelKY when posting to social media for a chance to be featured on the main tourism website.
