Tops’ Williams Tabbed C-USA Co-Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky junior forward Carson Williams was named Conference USA Co-Player Of The Week earlier this afternoon for his efforts in last week’s home wins vs North Texas and Rice.
Williams led the Hilltoppers to a 2-0 start in league play by averaging 18 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting a sensational 71.4% from the field.
It’s the Owenton, Kentucky native’s first player of the week honor as a Hilltopper and the first weekly award for Western Kentucky’s men’s basketball team since Charles Bassey was named Conference USA Player of the Week on December 2.
Williams will look to continue his impressive play on Thursday night as WKU hits the road to take on UAB. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT in Birmingham, Alabama.
