Todd County woman charged after children found living in ‘unsafe’ conditions
ELKTON, Ky. – A Todd County woman is facing charges following a welfare check on Wednesday.
According to a uniform citation, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check around 10 a.m. to a residence on Pond River Road in Elkton.
Deputies say upon arrival, they spoke with Cynthia Mobelini, 46, of Elkton. During this time, authorities say they could see inside of the trailer and gained permission to enter.
The trailer was in deplorable conditions inside, according to deputies, Authorities say they saw animal feces on the floor, months worth of unwashed clothing in each room, dirty dishes and so much trash that it was unsafe to be inside.
The children were sleeping on a mattress unfit for use, deputies say.
Deputies say they also found several weapons only feet from a small child and within reach.
Mobelini was arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count of endangering the welfare of an incompetent person. She remains at the Todd County Jail.
