Todd County man arrested after reportedly driving while intoxicated on 3 wheels

ELKTON, Ky. – A Todd County man is facing charges after allegedly driving on three wheels while under the influence.

According to a uniform citation, the Todd County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched on Monday regarding a reckless driver traveling from Liberty Road to Allegre Road.

Authorities say an individual stated 21-year-old Andrew Callahan of Elkton was driving on three wheels and disregarded a stop sign due to speeding.

Deputies say the front passenger side wheel was no longer attached to the vehicle.

As Callahan was turning onto Allegre Road, authorities say he drove onto a victim’s property. Deputies say the victim stated he was in fear for his life and for the safety of his children and other family members.

Authorities say Callahan did not try to stop and fled the scene.

Deputies say they made contact with Callahan on Calvin Monroe Road after civilians kept him on scene.

According to authorities, a strong odor of alcoholic beverages was coming from Callahan.

Callahan was transported to the Todd County Detention Center. He faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance and disregarding a stop sign.
