TJ Samson Community Hospital build a new state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

GLASGOW, KY.-  TJ Samson Community Hospital is taking a major step forward with plans to build a new state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), thanks to strong support from community members and local organizations.

The NICU program began about five years ago and has already made a big impact, but hospital leaders say this new space will take care to the next level. Randy Burns, Executive Director of the TJ Community Mission Foundation, said the goal is to create an incredible environment to serve the hospital’s most vulnerable patients—newborns in need of critical care.

The new facility is expected to serve around 100 infants each year, along with their families. Burns emphasized the importance of offering a “destination-level” health care experience that provides extra attention and comfort during what can be some of the scariest days for parents.

Beyond high-tech equipment, the vision includes a warm, welcoming space designed to support both infants and their families emotionally and physically.

“There have been so many people saying they can’t wait to see what the new space looks like,” Burns said.

Community excitement is building as construction is set to begin at the end of this summer. Hospital officials hope to have the new NICU up and running by fall. This project marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s mission to deliver top-tier care to the region’s youngest and most vulnerable patients.
