Thrifting Fall Fashion
BOWLING GREEN Ky. – Many people are feeling the pinch from inflation right now, but that doesn’t mean we cant look nice as fall approaches. There are a variety of thrifting and consignment options in Bowling Green.
At St. Teresa’s the prices are low and selection is varied, from clothing to furniture and home goods. They also do a great deal of community outreach, donating a great deal to food banks they run as well as working closely with Habitat for Humanity in Bowling Green said Patty Polston, manager at St. Teresa’s.
“People that donate actually have a lot of new items or very, very gently used items in their closet. So some items that have not even been worn. We do have a lot of name brand clothing items, so, I mean, you’re saving anywhere, I believe, from like 30 to 70%.” Polston said.
A lot of thrifting is about finding the deal and since you are reusing clothing and not allowing it to be thrown away, it is very friendly to the environment.
At Beverly Hills Bargain Boutique, assistant manager Emma Robbins says the thrill is her favorite part of thrifting and consigning.
“I love finding the great deal on a brand that I would love to own in my closet that I cannot afford to buy it at the at the retail store. And I love having those nice things that I wouldn’t be able to get otherwise.” Robbins said.
BHBB has great deals and a more curated selection that features a great deal of designer brands. They will also pay you for clothes that they want to sell.
