Three educators to join Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –Three Kentucky educators that have made a special impact on students’ lives are joining The Louis B. Nunn Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame this year.

According to a release by Western Kentucky University, Lois Chandler, Julie Cowan and Jennifer Fritsch are members of the 17th class.

They were selected by a statewide committee following an application process, the release says.

The 2025 Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Friday, Nov. 7 on WKU’s campus.

Chandler of LaCenter was an educator for 56 years in different elementary schools, officials say, including Bandana, Concord and Ballard elementaries. Chandler died in 2020 at the age of 92.

Cowan of Columbia, Kentucky is a current educator at Adair County Primary Center. During her 33-year long career, she also worked at Col. William Casey Elementary.

Frisch of Bowling Green is a current art teacher at Glasgow Middle School. This is her 23rd year teaching, according to the release.

Full biographies for all inductees will be released on Nov. 7.
