The SKYPAC presents ‘Chicago the Musical’
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- A show-stopping musical is coming to SKYPAC in Bowling Green, and whether it’s someone’s first Broadway show or their fifth, audiences are sure to leave with something memorable.
‘Chicago the Musical’, the longest-running American musical in Broadway history, is making its way to the city. One of the actors shares how meaningful the production has been for her.
“It’s an honor to be in this position in so many ways,” Ellie Roddy, who plays Roxie Hart, said. “This has been a dream role for me for at least ten years. So many incredible women have stepped into these shoes and told their own stories, and now I get to tell a different story.”
Although the musical is set in the 1920s, Roddy says it still resonates with today’s audiences.
“Our 1996 revival version did so well because it’s always relevant. Especially in this day and age, where everything is online, it feels like it’s in a wave of high relevancy,” she said.
This version of ‘Chicago’ not only entertains but also carries a clear message. For tickets and showtimes, visit SKYPAC’s website.
