The search continues for loose, aggressive dog in Russellville

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – In early October, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office began receiving complaints about a loose dog.

The same dog has recently attacked and killed another dog, also biting a young boy from the neighborhood.

Now, Logan County Sheriff Stephen Stratton is calling on the community for help in finding the dog to keep the residents safe.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page states the dog is running loose near Lindsay Lane in Russellville.

With one dog killed and a young boy recovering from the dog’s bite, Sheriff Stratton’s top priority is to find the dog.

Stratton tells us the dog is possibly a cattle dog that has grown aggressive.

He believes the dog has been roaming free for too long and its instincts have kicked in.

Something even the county leash law can’t protect against in this case.

The identity of the dog’s owners have not been discovered, which is what Stratton hopes the community can help with.

But he says there will be repercussions if foul play is taking place by the owners, such as intentional concealment of identity.

Some neighbors are telling Sheriff Stratton they’re not letting their children play outdoors.
