The Medical Center at Russellville awarded Acute Stroke Ready Hospital Certification

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – The Medical Center at Russellville has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Acute Stroke Ready Hospital Certification.

According to a release Monday by Med Center health, The Medical Center at Russellville recently underwent a rigorous onsite review. The Joint Commission evaluated compliance with certification standards related to care of stroke patients. The reviewer also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

“The Medical Center at Russellville is proud to receive Acute Stroke Ready Certification from The Joint Commission,” said Shirley Blick, director of Patient Care Services. “This achievement highlights our team’s dedication and training for providing the best care, furthermore, assuring our community immediate access to evidence-based, nationally recognized stroke care.”

“Acute Stroke Ready Hospital Certification recognizes health care organizations committed to fostering continuous improvement in patient safety and quality of care,” says Deborah Ryan, MS, RN, interim executive vice president, Accreditation and Certification Operations, The Joint Commission. “We commend The Medical Center at Russellville for using certification to reduce variation in its clinical processes and to strengthen its program structure and management framework for stroke patients.”
