The growth of Bowling Green from a real estate perspective
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green is now the third-largest city in Kentucky, and it’s also the fastest-growing.
With people relocating from across the country, especially from higher-cost areas, the city is expected to see continued population growth. Key factors driving this migration include strong school systems, plentiful job opportunities and a lower cost of living.
Realtor Melissa Albert notes that housing prices in Bowling Green, and nearby Franklin are nearly 50% cheaper than in places like Nashville.
As the summer moving season picks up, meeting the demand for housing could significantly impact the local economy.
Albert adds that the market has recently shifted from a buyer-friendly environment to one that now leans toward sellers. She emphasizes that this shift began quietly earlier in the year and has intensified with increased demand. With post-COVID trends continuing, the city’s housing market appears poised to expand alongside its population. Albert predicts that Bowling Green’s projected growth will remain strong, creating an urgent need for more homes.
This housing demand isn’t just a city issue—it could affect nearby counties as well. If the population continues to rise, areas like Logan, Barren and Allen counties may see spillover growth. For now, Bowling Green remains a city on the rise, with growth that shows no signs of slowing.
