New Warren Elementary School breaks ground
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Construction began Monday on a new elementary school building.
With Bowling Green being one of the fastest growing cities in Kentucky, Warren County Public Schools says they need more space.
Community members gathered to break ground on the new Warren Elementary School. It will be located on Brookwood Drive and offer more space and new amenities to students.
According to WCPS superintendent Rob Clayton, “We have to have quality facilities, and with our growth, it’s been a challenge to keep up with the growth that we see each and every year, and this new facility will enable us to impact approximately 300 to 400 more students down the road. And with a community that’s continuing to grow, we know that this is a vital asset.”
One bus driver that’s been driving Warren Elementary students for a long time shares how the students will react to the new school.
Melanie Edison says, “They won’t know how to act. You know a new school something new for them. It’s- it’s amazing. I hope the Lord will let me live to see it built , so I can drive that bus around this new school. I am so excited, and I thank everybody that had a hand in this, because this is major.”
