The Foundry hosts Happy, Healthy Hearts event to get kids excited about health

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kids had the opportunity to have a little fun while also learning how to stay healthy.

The Foundry hosts an event on the second Saturday of every month to give the community resources they might not know about.

The Happy, Healthy Hearts event featured a virtual obstacle course, blood pressure screenings, cookie decorating and even some WKU football players helping kids throw a football.

But it’s about more than just having fun for the kids that makes an event like this so important.

“People’s schedules are full and their pocket books are tight right now. So to be able to offer free resources that are going to save people time in the long run and do some of that preventative health that maybe we want to push off for another day. If our kids are excited and they’ll get us here, then it’s a win win for everybody,” The Foundry COO Shawna Wood says.
