The financial cost of Alzheimer’s disease

The financial cost of Alzheimer’s and other memory conditions will reach $781-billion in the U.S. this year alone.

The estimate comes from a team at the University of California that plans to track the toll, including everything from medical care to lost earnings and costs for caretakers. More than five million Americans are living with dementia.
