The Bowling Green – Warren County regional airport hosting annual aviation summer camps

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green – Warren County Regional Airport will be hosting the Annual Aviation Summer
Camps in conjunction with the Aviation Museum of Kentucky July 13-14 and July 15-16.
This year there will be two Aviation Summer Camps: The Jim & Jan Bohannon Aviation Summer Camp will take place July 13-14 for ages 10-17 and the Bob & Cara Pitchford Aviation Summer Camp will take
place July 15-16 for ages 10-adult.
This will give families the chance to attend the camp together if they wish to. Students will be able to take part in learning aircraft instruments, engine and aircraft design, use of the aeronautical maps for navigation, flight planning, weather, NASA space, aviation careers, practicing takeoffs and landings with a flight simulator, and most importantly, the students will actually assist in flying a real airplane with an FAA Certified Flight Instructor.
The Aviation Museum of Kentucky gives each chosen airport the opportunity to name their camp after individuals who have contributed to Aviation Summer Camp. This year, the Title Sponsors are Jim and Jan Bohannon and Bob and Cara Pitchford.
Without donors, many children would not have the opportunity to experience aviation on such a personal level.
The 2021 Aviation Summer Camps are filled for this year, but aspiring campers can request to be added to the waiting list for next year’s camp.
