Teranga Academy hosts a family night for students joining the program this fall
BOWLING GREEN, Ky- Teranga Academy hosted a family night on Monday to welcome their new students.
Bowling Green Independent Schools will open a new English immersion school for refugees and immigrants who are new to the United States.
The program will help students learn English and transition into American culture.
Family night consisted of families of the students, to meet before the opening of this program in August.
Elisa Brown, Director of Instructional Programs for Bowling Green Independent Schools says, “It’s just something that’s really going to strengthen our community as a whole as we, you know, we help all of our students succeed.”
Miguel Andres Manuel is a parent who says he’s most excited for his child, who’s going to Teranga Academy this fall, to learn English and to develop the knowledge in this program.
Teranga Academy opens August 16th, when all of the city schools open.
