Tennessee man charged with fleeing police on motorcycle in Logan County

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Tennessee man is behind bars after an alleged motorcycle pursuit in Logan County.
According to a uniform citation, on Sunday, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department observed a motorcycle traveling westbound on U.S. 68 East at Mud River Road at a high rate of speed.
Authorities say they paced the motorcycle going more than 100 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone.
Deputies say they attempted a traffic stop, however, the operator failed to stop.
Authorities say the motorcycle entered the opposite lane of travel, continuing to flee.
Deputies say the operator, identified as 20-year-old Dyllan Alford of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, tried to jump a curb, causing him to crash the motorcycle.
Authorities say Alford then got up and ran from the scene.
Deputies say they pursued Alford into thick brush by a creek, held him at gunpoint and took him into custody.
According to authorities, a handgun was found about 10 to 15 feet away from the motorcycle crash.
Alford was transported to The Medical Center at Russellville, where he received treatment for injuries. He was then taken to the Logan County Jail.
He faces charges of speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, reckless driving, second-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, no registration plates and resisting arrest.
