Tennessee man charged with DUI in Cave City

CAVE CITY, Ky. – One man is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence in Barren County.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police received multiple calls Friday night regarding a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 65.
Authorities say the final call KSP Post 3 received stated the vehicle was near the 43-mile marker northbound.
Upon arrival, troopers say they observed the vehicle swerving across all lanes of travel and failing to signal.
Troopers say they conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The citation states troopers observed the driver to be “very disoriented and confused.”
The driver was identified as 29-year-old Humza Darbashi of Nolensville, Tennessee.
Following a positive alert by a police K-9, authorities say they searched the vehicle and located a large bag of suspected marijuana, small white pills without labeling and a small bag of white powder.
Troopers say Darbashi was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for a blood draw.
He remains at the Barren County Detention Center on charges of reckless driving, driving too slow for traffic conditions/minimum speed, failure to or improper signal. no registration receipt, no registration plates, improper display of registration plates, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, first offense, and trafficking in marijuana between 8 ounces and 5 pounds, first offense.
