Teen dies in Bardstown crash

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Post 4 responded to a two-vehicle, fatal collision on Friday.
Police say a trooper located a two-vehicle collision near the 13-mile marker on Bluegrass Parkway at approximately 5:45 pm EDT.
The post’s preliminary investigation shows a 17-year-old male juvenile of Cox Creek was traveling westbound on Bluegrass Parkway when it crossed the median and into the path of a vehicle traveling eastbound. The operator of the vehicle is Patrick Reed, 40 of Bardstown). The cause of the vehicle crossing the median is unknown.
The Nelson County Coroner’s Office pronounced the 17-year-old male deceased at the scene.
Reed and two passengers were transported to University of Louisville Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Bluegrass Parkway was closed for several hours to allow for crash reconstruction.
The collision remains under investigation.
