FALLS OF ROUGH, Ky. – One teen has died following a crash in Falls of Rough.

According to WNKY News 40 media partner K105, the crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon around 3:10 p.m. in the 4800 block of Owensboro Road when an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado left the road and entered a ditch line.

K105 reports the vehicle then crashed head-on into a concrete culvert.

More here.

The vehicle then went airborne and spun mid-air, ejecting both occupants.

Falls of Rough Fire Department Capt. Austin Massina reportedly arrived on scene moments after it occurred. K105 states Massina evaluated the scene and provided critical details for the Leitchfield Fire Department, EMS crews and Grayson County chief deputy Sonny Poteet, who were on their way to the crash.

A 16-year-old male suffered critical injuries and was flown from Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center to a Louisville hospital. K105 reports he died Wednesday afternoon.

The other occupant, a young male, was transported by EMS to OHTLMC.

It is unclear at this time if a tire blowout caused the crash or if a hole in the truck’s rear tire was the result of the crash.
