Teen Angel collecting donations for youth in need
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-The Warren County community is coming together to help teens in need enjoy a happy holiday season.
Volunteers with the Teen Angel Program were ringing bells and holding decorated tin cans outside of the Starbucks on Scottsville Rd. on Friday.
They’ve been out there since 6 a.m. collecting money and gift cards, which will help purchase Christmas gifts for the youth.
The Christmas assistance program is partnered with the family resource youth services centers in the Bowling Green Independent, and Warren County Public School systems.
The program’s coordinator explains how the donations will be used.
“We are helping the teens that tend to get forgotten about. We really want to remind people that they’re kids. The one thing we have noticed over these 10 years is that they want to fit in at school. So a lot of what they are requesting this year, and what we’ll be providing, is clothes,” said Joshua Smith, Program Coordinator, Teen Angel.
All monetary donations will be matched by Crocker Law Firm. The volunteers will be at both Bowling Green Starbucks locations until 4 p.m.
