Teen accused of hit-and-run involving horse and buggy
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A teen is arrested and now faces multiple charges after authorities say they fled the scene after hitting an Amish horse and buggy.
According to a release from the Logan County Sheriff’s office, Ella Miller, 62, was driving a horse and buggy near the Chandlers Road area on Saturday.
Officials say a Hyundai sonata, driven by a 17- year-old, then hit the rear of the buggy, causing Miller to be ejected. She was uninjured.
According to the release, the vehicle then fled the scene but was apprehended by deputies a short time later with the help of community members and witnesses.
The juvenile driver was arrested and charged and an 18-year-old passenger was located and released.
Officials believe drug usage and excessive speed are suspected to be contributing factors in the collision.
