Teacher field trip expo highlights educational opportunities in the area

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As school staff plan for a more normal school year, field trips are expected to make a comeback. An event held Thursday showcased the field trip opportunities in South-Central Kentucky.

The teacher field trip expo held at the National Corvette Museum featured a wide variety of attractions in the surrounding area. The Hardin Planetarium, the Downing Museum and the Historic Railpark & Train Museum are just a few examples among many.

Educators from the area came in to see what options they had as far as planning field trips, and they had the chance to learn more about what these different attractions offer as far as educational opportunities.

Representatives in attendance said they’re very thankful to have had the opportunity to be showcased, and they can’t wait to be an option for field trips.

“We really love seeing the kids inside of the Historic Railpark & Train Museum. We want every opportunity that we can to let those kids come in and experience history. We’re one of the places they can do that. Now that these kids can come back out for field trips, we are ready for them,” said Historic Railpark & Train Museum executive director Jamie Johnson.
