Tax bills will increase in August
BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Delinquent tax refers to a tax that is unpaid after the due date. Warren County property taxpayers who haven’t already paid, will see their tax bills increase in August.
On Aug. 27, bills that are not paid will be sold to third party investors. From there, the bills will continue to grow.
The third party can add extra penalties and interest if the bills remain unpaid.
The tax collection rate is currently sitting at 99.05% compared to last year’s 99.02%.
The tax deputy from the Warren County Clerk’s Office, Jessica Coles, said a feature to pay bills online has been helping immensely in lowering the number of delinquent bills.
“We really utilized our online payment system this year and had a lot of traffic on our website where people could pay with credit card or through an ACH payment. There was a small fee associated, but it was a seamless process. Most people really enjoy that because you have instant notification that your bill was paid,” Coles said.
Tax collection on oil bills will not close until July 15.
