“Take it Down” program aims to reduce sexually explicit photos of children

This week, several police departments across Kentucky are recommending a service to remove nude images of children from social media platforms.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children offers a free service called take it down. They describe the service as a tool to help you remove or stop the online sharing of nude, partially nude, or sexually explicit images or videos taken of you when you were under 18 years old.

Of course, this isn’t the only resource you can visit. The NCMEC has a full information page available for you to view if you think you may have sexually explicit images of yourself as a minor online. They have a team of anaylists that are, “dedicated to speeding up the process of getting the images down and helping remove some of that burden.”
