T-Mobile acquires Mint Mobile, partially owned by Ryan Reynolds, in potential $1.35B deal

(CNN) – Ryan Reynolds is about to have a nice payday.
T-Mobile announced Wednesday that it’s buying budget wireless provider Mint Mobile in a deal of up to $1.35 billion.
Reynolds purchased a minority ownership in Mint Mobile in 2019.
He will stay on in his “creative role” with Mint, where he serves as a spokesperson.
The acquisition of Mint Mobile’s parent Ka’ena Corporation will also include Ultra Mobile, an international calling service, as well as wireless wholesaler Plum.
T-Mobile hopes to boost its own prepaid services with the acquisition of Mint Mobile.
T-Mobile’s CEO says Mint’s $15 pricing plan will stay in place.
