T.J. Samson Department of Rehabilitation receives $120K grant
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Department of Rehab at T.J. Samson Community Health is receiving a $120,000 grant to make improvements for children with special needs.
The grant from WHAS Crusade for Children will help the department reach their long-term goals, like expanding their pediatric services to areas that are undeserved.
The grant will also be used to fund speech pathology, in order to help support parents of children with social communication needs.
Occupational therapist, Stephanie Smith, says the department is “continuing to close some of those gaps. We’ve realized there are many people who pour their hearts into children with special needs, and families, but there’s still so many things that they need. So just working to close those gaps and helping these families.
The rehabilitation department is looking forward to installing a new outdoor playground for the kids and to continue to improve their facility to meet the needs of the children.
