Sweet weekend event benefits local healthcare organization
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The actual Valentines Day holiday may be over for another year, but Sloan Convention Center was filled with sweet treats Sunday afternoon for the 33rd Annual Chocolate Festival benefiting Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
The event is a major fundraiser for Hospice so patients who may not be able to afford hospice care can get the end-of-life care they need.
There was, of course, chocolate in every form. There were also other sweets, a photo booth and silent auction. And, there was the annual Oreo cookie-eating contest. Tej Joshi represented WNKY. He put down about 20 Oreos during the contest.
More than 1,200 tickets were sold for the Chocolate Festival.
