Human remains found in Hart County field
MUNFORDVILLE, Ky.- Authorities with Kentucky State Police said suspected human remains were discovered Sunday in Hart County.
According to the law enforcement agency, the remains were found just after 12:30 p.m. in a field near the 1100 block of North Nelson Road.
Kentucky State Trooper Daniel Priddy says the remains were discovered by a nearby landowner who was walking in the field.
Police said the remains are unidentifiable at this time and will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office for examination.
According to the Hart County coroner, the remains were taken to Louisville Monday for examination.
“Identification will be attempted to be made through different channels of dental records and DNA and try to match that up through the National Missing and Unidentified Persons system,” said Priddy.
Officials hope that through the investigation, the deceased person’s loved ones will get some answers.
“We are just trying to do the best that we can, make sure that we are do a full scale investigation to try to be able to identify this person and then be able to investigate the death. So, that’s our main goal right now. Trying to provide some closure to a family that has questions about a loved one,” said Priddy.
