Suspect wearing “Scream” mask accused of attempted robbery at Franklin cell phone store

FRANKLIN, Ky.- Police in Franklin are searching for two men who are accused of attempting to rob a cell phone store on Nashville Road. One of the suspects was wearing a mask from the movie, “Scream.”

Franklin police said the crime occurred just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bluegrass Cellular store.

Police said the man wearing the mask and black hoodie pointed a handgun at the store owner. Authorities said the owner then pulled out his personal firearm and chased the suspects out of the store. The suspects were last seen traveling south on Nashville Road.

The other male suspect has a beard and was wearing a red Chicago Bulls cap.
