Suspect shot during alleged home invasion in Hopkins County

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (K105) – One man accused in an alleged home invasion was shot by a homeowner in Hopkins County.

That’s according to a report by K105.

According to K105, the incident took place around 5 p.m. Friday at a home along the 600 block of Fowler Road in north Madisonville.

Upon arrival, deputies learned the homeowner had shot an intruder in the home, K105 reports.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office stated an intruder had “forced his way into the home, resulting in an altercation between the suspect and resident. At some point during the incident, the resident retrieved a firearm and shot the suspect,” according to K105.

Additional details have not been released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
