NEW DETAILS: Suspect found dead in Allen County after shooting in Portland

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – A suspect has been found dead in Allen County after a reported shooting in Portland, Tennessee.

Portland Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in front of Planet Fitness in Portland on Wednesday at 9:40 a.m.

Upon arrival, police discovered a male sustained a gunshot wound to the face.

The suspect fled from the scene. He was later identified as Coltin James Lynch.

The victim was transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment.

While searching for the suspect, Portland officers were contacted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, who advised they believed they had found the suspect.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call to the Adolphus community in the area of Walkers Chapel Road and Pleasant Ridge Road. Officers located a male subject with a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Kentucky State Police Post 3 is leading the investigation. The motive of the shooting is undetermined.
