Sundown Stables returns after suffering damage from severe weather
FRANKLIN, KY.- Back in February, Sundown Stables suffered major damage from flooding and an EF-1 tornado that destroyed much of the property. Despite the devastation, the co-owners describe the aftermath as a blessing in disguise. Jennifer Edwards, part-owner of Sundown Stables, said the experience was traumatic, but ultimately turned into something beautiful. The horses were initially confused, but quickly adapted to the changes in their environment.
Sydney Jansing, another part-owner, explained how both horses and riders are now thriving in the newly restored space. Adjusting wasn’t easy after such a traumatic event, but the animals found comfort in what still felt like home. Safety was a top priority during the six-month restoration, with crews clearing glass, nails, and debris left behind by the storm. Now, the entire property is safely accessible, offering peace of mind to everyone who visits or calls it home.
