Students take to the Hill for start of WKU school year
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Students of Western Kentucky University moved in this past weekend, and today marked the beginning of the 2025-26 school year for the Hilltoppers.
News 40 asked students on the Hill about how their first day went.
“You know, I was really, really excited because I wasn’t here last semester because I was in England,” said junior Hannah Humble, who spent the spring semester last year studying abroad. I’m just really thrilled to be back. You know, it’s a good year. I can smell the year. I can feel the year. I think it’s been really awesome.”
A new year means new beginnings for the Hilltoppers. It’s a chance to set new goals and be better than you were the previous year. Students plan to take advantage of their time on the Hill and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Junior Gage Czirr says he plans to be “more present in the moments.” “Hang out with all the friends I can, get all the good grades I can and just have a good time,” he said.
Good luck to all Hilltopper students on this upcoming semester and the 2025-26 school year.
