Students reflect on 9/11 outside of Warren County Courthouse
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Here in South Central Kentucky, students from Anchored Christian School in Bowling Green took time to remember 9/11 outside the Warren County Courthouse this morning.
They sang songs, read prayers and said the Pledge of Allegiance.
Even though the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 happened before these kids were born, educators felt it was important for the students to know about the events that unfolded on that tragic morning 18 years ago.
School principal Betty Jo Hicks, said she wants the students to know about the sacrifice the first responders made when they were working to rescue those trapped in the World Trade Center.
Senior class president Emma Leah Berkley said she does not want to forget the sacrifices made for her of those that lost their lives even though she didn’t know them.
