Student framed with fake hit list
(WCPO) – A group of Kentucky middle school students will face charges that they fabricated a “kill list”, and framed a fellow student for it.
Police investigators determined this week there was no threat to Campbell County Middle School in Alexandria, Kentucky.
Several students who admitted to the fake threat have now been disciplined, with police charges to come.
The district’s superintendent says this began from a list of names a new student had written down, to help him remember his classmates.
Other students then took the list and labeled it as a ‘hit list’ on Snapchat.
School officials say rumors about the list first came to light a few months ago and re-surfaced this week.
The new student who wrote the list of names did nothing wrong.
The superintendent says he’s now most concerned about protecting him from unfair treatment.
