Student detained after lockdown at North Hardin High School
RADCLIFF, Ky. – One student has been detained following a lockdown at North Hardin High School on Monday.
According to Hardin County Schools, the high school entered a hard lockdown at around 2:30 p.m. April 21. The district says no students were permitted to leave their classrooms, and all students and staff were secured.
The district released a statement, which included the following:
“This lockdown occurred as a result of a report of a student having a weapon. Our SRO responded immediately, and additional law enforcement was requested from the Radcliff Police Department.”
“The lockdown was lifted at approximately 3 p.m. An individual has been detained. A student did have a weapon. That student was arrested by the Radcliff Police Department. Police are continuing their investigation. That student and any students involved will face criminal charges and will be dealt with in accordance with the law and the Hardin County Schools Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline.
“We would like to thank the Radcliff Police Department, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the Elizabethtown Police Department, the Vine Grove Police Department and the Kentucky State Police for their hard work to keep our students and staff safe.”
