Student arrested after bringing gun to Nashville high school, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville high school student is facing a charge after police say the teen brought a gun to school Friday.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department says on Friday, March 6, a 17-year-old Stratford High School student was arrested.

Police say an Evolv weapon detection system alerted school staff of a loaded handgun in the student’s backpack.

The student was arrested for possession of a firearm on school property, police say.
